An extraordinary opportunity to experience both the ancient and contemporary city of Athens on a much more in-depth level than an average tour. Conducted by art dealer Jordanis Theodoridis, you will visit major cultural venues, art institutions and discover the many unique places of Athens.
Why contemporary art in Athens?
The intent is to offer a holistic city experience by connecting visual and performing arts, history, artists, curators, directors, gastronomers, locals and our guests, in a effortless but profound way.
Highlight of the Day Tour is the visit of the eminently relevant art galleries and art spaces and their dedicated founders. Where possible time has been arranged for a personal meeting and discussion.
Itinerary
Start by Lycabettus Hill, continue visiting a contemporary show at the Benaki Museum and selected gallery art shows in Kolonaki.
Visit art spaces in Botanikos, Metaxourgio or Exarchia depending on the running art shows. Where possible an introduction by the artist is arranged beforehand.

About Jordanis Theodoridis
In the last fifteen years as managing director of the Swiss gallery widmertheodoridis, Jordanis has developed an extensive professional network in the gallery business.
In the last years Jordanis has a permanent base in Athens – he is a native Greek speaker. Since 2015 widmertheodoridis has been doing business in Greece and can rely on an extensive network of contacts with local artists, galleries, museums, and curators.

How did it all start? Over a great summer diner at Psirri, in Athens, the idea was born and felt so right. Jordanis and myself, we both love Greece, Athens, art, so launching unique Athens Contemporary Art tours was just a matter of time!
